At Nottingham Trent University we dare to do things a little bit differently.
We offer equine courses at college, undergraduate and postgraduate level at our Brackenhurst Campus.
We have everything you’d expect from a subject-specialist institution:
What makes us different though is that you’ll be part of something much larger.
NTU is a multi-disciplinary university based in the thriving student city of Nottingham. Study with us and you’ll be joining a university at the peak of its powers — a place with a worldwide reputation for excellence, which we’ve earned by daring to do things that little bit differently.
Kick-start your career with a college course. You’ll study equine science and practical stable management, preparing you for a career in the equine industry or further study. You’ll improve your riding skills as well as study towards the British Horse Society (BHS) examinations. We also offer non-riding options.
This course examines the sports science of horse and rider across varying equestrian disciplines. You’ll explore physiology, biomechanics, performance parameters and the interfaces between horse and rider and between the horse and its environment.
This course covers all areas of equine behaviour, health and welfare, offering an extensive range of subjects from anatomy and physiology to equitation science. You’ll build the fundamental knowledge – as well as the laboratory skills – needed to optimise the welfare of horses in our care.
This course focuses on the recent advances in equine health and disease, sports horse nutrition, behaviour, ethics, exercise physiology, equitation science, and genetics in the context of enhancing equine performance, health and welfare.
