R&R Country has over 23 years’ experience within the equestrian and country industry and is dedicated to providing our customers with quality products at competitive prices to ensure you get great value for money. Starting with a store in Hemingbrough, North Yorkshire, we have since grown into Yorkshire’s largest equestrian and country superstore and have a second store at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire plus a large ecommerce site.

Open 7 days a week, our stores are packed with the latest equestrian and country clothing, safety wear, footwear, saddlery, horse wear, feed, pet products, gifts and much more.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Control the company’s day to day accounting & financial functions.
  • Purchase Ledger, Sales ledger, Cash allocation and Payroll.
  • Handling payment runs for suppliers.
  • Dealing with VAT returns.
  • Production of monthly Management Accounts.
  • Assist with the production of future Budgets/Targets.
  • Work on Sage 50 accounting system.
  • Maintain and Develop the Accounting functions, processes, and controls.
  • Responsible for some aspects of HR – employment contracts, monthly payroll processing, new starter forms etc. 
  • Keeping up to date with health and safety.
  • Bank Reconciliations.
  • Checking credit notes.
  • Liaising with company accountants regarding year end.
  • Managing company cash flow.
  • Handling bills and utilities.
  • Mentoring Accounts Assistant and reviewing supplier invoicing.

Personal Specification:

  • Experience in using Sage preferably Sage50 and Sage Payroll.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Must be at least AAT qualified or equivalent, qualified by experience also considered.
  • Good IT and communication skills
  • Organised and Commercial Thinking

 Working between the hours of 08.30am-17.00pm Monday - Friday 

28 days holiday per year, this includes New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (days which we close) therefore 24 days choice which we split over the year i.e. spring, summer and winter periods.  We work bank holidays.  Extra day holiday for birthday after three years.

Pension auto enrolement after three months, employee 5% employer 3%.

Health cash plan after 12 months i.e. dental, optical, chiropractor claim back scheme.

20% discount after three months, 30% after twelve months.
