Assistant Store Manager – Broadfeed – Temporary Contract Maternity Cover

A Busy retailer of equestrian, pet and small holder products. Our large store is based in Tunbridge Wells, where we also manage our thriving online retail sales. Aside from the in store and online sales activity - Delivery is also a key part of our business serving customers both locally and nationally.

We have a current opportunity for an Assistant Store Manager on a 9 month Maternity Cover contract.

The successful candidate will be part of a busy and friendly family run team, overseeing all of the store activities, front of house, online and delivery with customer service as their top priority.

Daily responsibilities could range from – but not limited to

  • Front of House
  • Customer Service
  • Dealing with Reps
  • Online activity, sales and enquiries
  • Buying & stock control
  • All enquiries – telephone, face to face and email.
  • Overseeing and managing other members of staff
  • Merchandising, point of sale and offers.
  • Deliveries, scheduling and orders 

Candidate Specification

  • The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role
  • A strong equestrian background is essential – in order to relate to the products and customer requirements
  • Ideally AMTRA qualified – SQP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident and personable
  • The maturity and experience to manage others with tact and diplomacy
  • Professional & forward thinking
  • Well organised and able to prioritise their work
  • Reliable and able to lead by example

As this is a store based position, candidates need to live locally and able to commute to store daily.

The 5 day working rota will include one weekend day, with 2 simultaneous days off.
