Equilibrium Products Ltd has been around for over 20 years with the mission to improve horse welfare by developing innovative wellbeing-based products. With a wide range of customers in Europe, Africa, North America and Australasia, this role will be the key point of reference for them.

Reporting into the International Sales Director, the Export Sales Manager is a new and multi-faceted role within the company.

We are looking for someone with a positive and proactive approach to work with our existing international customers to help build our business in these markets as well as identifying new opportunities.

To succeed in this role, you need to have great communication skills, both oral and written. Many of our customers do not speak English as their first language so patience and creativity are key aspects to the role. Language skills are a plus but not essential – it is more important that the Export Manager is happy to use the myriad of communication tools that are now available to build strong relationships with customers.

The successful candidate will need to work well under pressure, be able to multitask, work to deadlines and be ready to think outside the box. You will have to manage your time effectively and be willing to go the extra mile. You will be highly driven, enthusiastic, flexible, and organised.

Person Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral.
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • Ability to pick up new systems – we use a CRM system and a sales system
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with customers
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically with some long periods away.
  • Language skills an advantage but not essential
  • At least 2 years previous experience as an account/sales manager
  • Proven track record in sales, ideally export but not essential
  • Experience in the equestrian industry would be an advantage

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • A Key Point of reference for all export customers
  • Working alongside the International Sales Director to grow export sales
  • Aid in the identification/research of potential new export partners.
  • Provide regular product updates so the information on our partners websites is always up to date
  • Prepare the content and manage the distribution of newsletters to the international database
  • Manage and implement the agreed marketing plan for each individual account
  • Manage the development of the B2B site
  • Attend trade shows overseas and manage the pre-show preparation and post show preparation.
  • Provide cover for the International Sales Director


A mix of office based (near Leighton Buzzard) and home working, the successful candidate will also be expected to travel and stay away from home overnight both domestically and internationally. A clean driving license and a valid passport is required.
