Job Description

We are a busy retailer of equestrian, pet and small holder products. Our large store is based in Tunbridge Wells, where we also manage our thriving online retail sales and local delivery offering. 

Established for thirty six years, the successful candidate will join Broadfeed as a part of a busy, long established and friendly family run team. 

We are looking for an exceptional Retail Manager to join us on a full time, permanent basis, during an exciting period of growth and expansion.

This is a multi-faceted role overseeing customer facing, retail, other staff members and commercial buying responsibility.

The Role:

  • Manage our buying function to maximise profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices.
  • Review all product ranges to ensure that our offering fits our customer base.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and react to changes in customer demand.
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products.
  • Manage retail pricing for all stock to maintain company targets.
  • Engage with supplier reps and our in-house Marketing Coordinator to maximise on any promotional opportunities.
  • Utilise in house systems to report on sell through, shrinkage, profit and discount levels etc.
  • Oversee goods receipt and invoice matching.
  • Manage, develop and mentor our more junior team members
  • Schedule ordering to generate a consistent flow of deliveries into our warehouse through each week.
  • Manage the retail team to ensure that the retail space is always tidy, well presented, well merchandised and fully stocked.
  • Work alongside our Marketing Coordinator to create a vibrant, exciting and most importantly, shoppable retail space.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in every aspect of the retail experience.

You will:

Have a passion for delivering excellence in every activity
Have a proven track record in a senior retail role (not necessarily equestrian).
Possess an excellent knowledge of equestrian goods gained either from industry experience or an outside interest.

Salary and hours:

This role is based on a 48 ½ hour working week, working 5 days out of 7.

Salary banding for this role is £25,000 - £32,000 D.O.E.
