Established in 1832, from manufacturing a range of agricultural products, Battles has grown to be one of UK’s largest, and most respected Equine & Animal Welfare wholesalers, with over 220 brands. We are currently seeking an Area Sales Manager in Ireland, the successful candidate will have an exciting and varied role.

Role:

Battles are seeking an Area Sales Manager to work in their Ireland Area, covering both Northern & Southern Ireland.

This field-based role requires an individual who is confident and articulate, with a strong desire to drive sales and offer exemplary customer service to an established customer base. They will need to be enthusiastic and target driven with excellent communication skills and a passion for Equine.

Applicants must be willing to travel and stay away overnight. The appointed candidate, will also be expected to visit Head Office (Lincoln, Lincolnshire) up to 6 times per year and will be required to attend ad-hoc weekend trade shows when required. 

Key Areas of responsibility:

  • Interrogate & analyse data to effectively formulate action plans, drive sales and report actions against targets
  • Presentation of current range, new products and promotions
  • Deliver a high level of customer service, to assess customer needs and implement action plans
  • Develop and implement efficient call cycles which result in positive orders and drive sales to deliver business targets
  • Implement In-season and forward order processes
  • Evaluate/collate customer feedback and liaise with relevant business teams
  • Support customer event days and complete in store training

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Evidence of ability to build strong relationships and deliver excellent customer service
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills via telephone & face to face
  • Demonstrably high level of business acumen & problem solving
  • Ability to work on own initiative

Qualifications/Experience:

  •  A proven track record of minimum 2-5 years successful field sales
  • Excellent knowledge of the equestrian industry
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office 

Location: Ireland

Hours: Full Time

Salary: Competitive, with bonus structure
