Area Sales Manager – Nutrition Support and Sales

Keyflow is a young, dynamic brand at the forefront of Equine nutrition. Due to rapid growth and internal promotion, we are looking for a very special person to join our team. You will need to be a true people person, have a wide knowledge of a range of horses and their needs, and a genuine interest in nutrition.

Responsible for all sales activities in the assigned region, you will manage a mixed portfolio of trade accounts, including wholesale, retail and B2B stockists, commercial and private yards across the full range of disciplines and associated clients, for example veterinary practices and riding clubs.

An important part of this service will include providing professional and technical nutrition advice to horse owners on yard visits. Clients’ horses include those ranging from low-level leisure to Olympic athletes. We are particularly looking to hear from applicants who have experience within the Racing and Thoroughbred breeding industries or a keen interest in this area.

You must recognise the value of customer contact and be adaptable in your approach, service, and communication, appropriate to their needs. Your role will include developing sales and cross-selling opportunities across the territory and contributing to the growth of the brand Nationally.

Role Responsibilities

This role requires you to meet and exceed sales objectives and manage the quality and consistency of service to all customers and end users. This will be achieved by lead generation and management, visiting and supporting the varied customer base, and developing an effective sales message.

Location

Counties covered will include Cumbria, Northumberland, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, and Nottinghamshire. The ideal candidate must live within the region.  You may also need to visit adjoining and neighbouring counties. The role involves significant travel and staying away from home. 

If you have the following qualities then we would love to hear from you: 

  • Practical experience of working with horses, ideally within a competition sector
  • Ideally one year’s previous field sales experience or two year’s experience in a customer facing role
  • A good understanding of concept selling
  • A thorough understanding of the Equine Industry and current challenges
  • Good IT knowledge
  • Excellent time management and record keeping skills
  • A Higher Education qualification in Equine, Animal, and/or Business area would be beneficial
