We are recruiting an Assistant Manager for a long-established equestrian retail store and saddlery. The family business of E J Wicks is situated in the ‘Valley of the Racehorse’ at the heart of the busy horse racing community.

The full-time role will require the successful candidate to work in a small team to provide first class service and knowledge to a range of equestrian customers from racing and eventing to pony club and local hunts.

Assistant Manager applicants will be reliable with a professional and focused approach to store operations, they will have excellent customer service skills and a proven track record of working in either retail or a similar customer-focused role.

Minimum Criteria to Apply

  • Hardworking and reliable
  • Deal effectively with customer issues
  • Able to demonstrate good commercial awareness
  • Possess a creative approach to merchandising
  • An inquisitive mind with a good eye for detail
  • A confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills and a real 'can do' attitude
  • Experience of working in a retail environment is advantageous
  • Equestrian knowledge is essential
  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent C grade or above in Maths and English

£22,500 per annum
28 days paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance
