Bloodstock/Commercial Project Manager 

A vacancy has arisen for a Bloodstock/Commercial Project Manager to ensure delivery of exciting new digital Bloodstock products and services. This will be a dynamic new role and the successful candidate will take the lead on development projects, interacting with external and internal IT resources as well as external clients of Weatherbys Bloodstock.

They will ensure that business and technical requirements are met through the delivery of software solutions, delivered within the timescales, budget and to the quality required. These solutions will be primarily related to the development of new product outputs from the Bloodstock database, and development of Bloodstock app products. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the decision making process to establish business needs and will lead the delivery of projects to establish growth.

Key responsibilities;

  • Own your projects from inception through to deployment and handover to the business and support teams.
  • Liaise closely with customers to understand the business requirements, ensuring the customers close involvement with the product developed.
  • Agree and manage work objectives, budgets and timescales with project team and customers.
  • Work closely with Weatherbys IT, external IT Suppliers and key customer and stakeholders to ensure that the project delivers successfully within the framework of the wider program.

The successful candidate will have a working understanding of the UK and Irish horseracing and/or Bloodstock sectors, or associated experience with the development of horseracing gaming products. Demonstrable experience of Agile and/or iterative development is also required and any experience working with 4D database systems would be beneficial. Excellent organisational and communication skills and, effective time management skills are essential requirements for this role. Certification in Prince2 Practitioner, Agile PM, PMP, Scrum masters or similar is required.
