Global Herbs are expanding, and excited to announce the role of Business Development Executive. Global Herbs are now moving into the performance market where we see a huge potential for success in supporting equine athletes.
We are looking for an experienced sales and account executive who has excellent rapport building, understands the equine business market and supporting customers to receive expert advice to support all equines.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
- Identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services- lead conversion
- Using warm leads or new leads win sustainable accounts
- Meet with customers in stores and over the phone regularly to build relationships
- Conduct product training for account members to encourage ‘in store/online ambassadors. Arranging external training where appropriate
- Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management.
- Plan sales campaigns and discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department- negotiate marketing deals where appropriate.
- Advertising plans with the customer digital or print (with the GH marketing director)
- Keep up to date with news and events in the equine, farming and pet industry and update the wider team.
- Have an understanding of the macroeconomic environment and research how the equine, pet and farming sectors are likely to respond. What are the driving factors?
- Cross selling where possible (Equine, Poultry, Canine) to grow the scope of the account
- Organise and represent Global Herbs at key networking events to raise the company profile and brand
- Ensure the wider team are kept up to date with accounts order patterns, forecasts, promotional activity.
- Exceed key targets
- Investigate and propose new target markets
- Market insight- competitor analysis, competitive shop, new product releases
In order to full service this role, the successful candidate must have the following qualifications / experience / attributes:
- Degree in Business development/management, Equine related or extensive experience gained.
- GCSE’s Excellent numeracy and English skills essential
- ICT skills and use of excel for data reporting
- Sales experience essential
- Equine experience and knowledge of sector
There is also a large emphasis on brand awareness, supporting events and penetrating new markets.
The position is ideal for a self-starter who's ambitious, works well with sole responsibilities and communicates well within a team.
The role will require travel to customers, training, yards and some work from home.
Candidates must live within territory - The Thames Valley
Car is provided, laptop iPad phone etc, 40hr week
21 days holiday plus 1 extra day each year with business.
