Silvermoor, the established equestrian haylage and horse treats manufacturer, are looking to expand their team with the appointment of a Business Development Manager to lead and drive the sales strategy for the business. Silvermoor is a small dynamic company with ambitious growth plans, the successful applicant can look forward to working with a small team of passionate people who strive to deliver excellence in all areas.  

The role will be based in our office in Northumberland, frequent travel and overnight stays will be essential as will working from the office from Northumberland at least 1 day per week. Working from home would also be a possibility.

Reporting to the Directors the Business Development Manager will be responsible driving the growth of the company. They will create, implement and manage the sales strategy for all products, this will include national and export sales. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Meet overall sales targets
  • Use sales targets to create and implement a sales strategy
  • Grow sales through existing customers
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities
  • Introduce products to overseas market
  • Manage Sales Agents to achieve geographical targets
  • Build brand awareness within the UK and overseas
  • Act as a brand ambassador
  • Produce regular sales reports to inform on progress
  • Report on market trends
  • Contribution to the development of new products
  • Attending trade fairs and publicity events
  • Manage KPI performance 

The successful applicant will be charismatic, driven and competitive; target driven, confident and self-motivated. They will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and consistently achieving sales goals. Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills are essential to enable to successful applicant to effectively build relationships to attract new accounts and ensure loyalty and growth amongst existing customers. An equestrian background or interest would be advantageous.
