On behalf of a highly regarded and successful Feed client we are currently seeking an Equine Business Manager.  The successful candidate needs to have an existing based in Normandy, where the role is situated - with an extensive network of contacts within the Thoroughbred Industry,  this role will report into the UK Equine Country Manager.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in business or commercial sales plus a wealth of knowledge / contacts from The Thoroughbred or Sports Horse Industry. 

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Maintaining and developing sales to a customer base in line with specific targets.
  • Identifying opportunities for further sales and new areas for development through detailed research of the European market.
  • Ensuring that cash is collected in line with targets and that debtor days are maintained at the level required.
  • Analysing, developing and maintaining key information on all customers.
  • Providing technical expertise to customers on a range of equine products.
  • Executing campaigns and marketing plans in line with business needs.
  • Working closely with a number of other functions within the business including NPD, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing.

 Ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • A third level degree in a relevant Agriculture / Equine discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience selling / management in a commercial role
  • A strong knowledge, understanding and passion for the Equine Industry.
  • A proven track record of achievement in a competitive sales environment.
  • A good technical aptitude with the capability of understanding the scientific elements of horse feed is essential.
  • Strong negotiating and planning experience.
  • A good working knowledge of IT systems including MS Office.
