Buyer (primarily office based in Lincoln)

An opportunity has arisen with Battles, the market leader in equestrian wholesale products and clothing.

We are looking for a Buyer to join our existing team, designing, selecting and sourcing products primarily from the Far East for our own brand portfolio.

If have an equestrian background, experience sourcing horse and rider clothing and are highly analytical, very numerically minded and with a strong eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you.

The key requirements for this role will be to:

  • At least two years’ experience in a comparable role
  • Attention to detail
  • A passion to succeed

Key Responsibilities;

Through a combination of analysis of sales figures, competitor activity, market research and feedback and your own creativity you will complete range reviews for agreed categories, presenting an evidenced view of the market.

  • Identify the opportunities for growth & development
  • Identify suppliers and develop products with them to exploit the market opportunities
  • Create and present product training to our sales team

Ensure system data is correct and maintained at all times

What are we looking for?  

To succeed in this exciting role, you will need to have an equestrian background as well as;

  • Advanced spreadsheet and numerical analysis skills

  • Creativity
  • Ability to be proactive with a sense of urgency
  • Be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced continually changing environment
  • Willing to travels overseas as required in order to meet the requirements of the role.
