The British Horse Society is the nation’s leading equine charity with a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals. 

The BHS sets the standards in equestrian education and delivers training and examinations of a world-class standard. We have helped hundreds of thousands of people to carve their equestrian career. BHS qualifications are well respected, internationally endorsed qualifications.  The standards and quality assurance are also well respected and accepted as one of the most comprehensive across all equestrian qualification throughout the world.  The BHS are recognised from grassroots level right through to the Fellowship, with these instructors often training competitors to Olympic standard. 

Through the BHS education system, candidates develop the relevant experience and skills in the required components of Horse Care, Riding, Coaching and Business Theory to support commercial riding school businesses. No other country puts the horse at the centre of their education system.  The BHS has an established infrastructure, allowing us to support centres across the World.  Our coaching/instructor training and exams are carefully designed to meet the rider’s requirements, so the rider can develop to his/her maximum potential in an enjoyable environment. 

Education Development Manager

  • The role will review and enhance existing BHS training, CPD and assessment provision. 
  • Develop new training and CPD opportunities to ensure the BHS can continue to engage with all learners, both professional and recreational.
  • Accredit and deliver training to ensure BHS standards are maintained.
  • You will manage a team of programme leaders and administrators, and oversee the development of resources required to support our candidates, centres and coaches.
  • Ensure The BHS Equine Excellence Pathway remains industry leading.
