Full Time - Permanent Position
Office based at our HQ in Burnley, Lancashire.
Horses and Ponies Protection Association are looking to recruit an exceptional equestrian with the drive and enthusiasm to develop and grow the charity's education and supporter engagement offering.
The successful candidate will display the skills, experience and work ethic needed to deliver the charities strategic objective of; reducing the number of equine welfare concerns reported to the charity by educating potential horse owners and the public about all aspects of horse care.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Education
To develop equine focused educational courses and activities for all ages, both onsite and offsite (online).
Selection, preparation and delivery of appropriate course materials and promotional materials.
Research and develop educational programs and resources for adults, families, community groups and visitors.
To give informative talks to other interest groups, both at the Centre and at other venues.
To develop and deliver activities for clubs, events, and other out-of-school activities.
Supervise CPD equine focused courses alongside the Equine Activities & Events Coordinator.
To promote the educational role of HAPPA and pro-actively build relationships with educational establishments across Lancashire and surrounding areas.
To deliver group tour packages and gain clientele for attending.
Events and Activities
To manage the delivery of Birthday Parties, Group Tours, School Visits and Centre based Equestrian Competitions.
Co-ordinate the running of the HAPPA Dressage Competitions.
Promote indoor and outdoor arena hire, implement a booking and payment systems for both private and commercial clients.
To liaise with customers regarding facility hire this includes raising invoices for payment under the direction of the Finance Manager.
Engagement
To attend external events, shows and networking groups to promote HAPPA; encouraging supporter engagement, course and activities sign ups and data capture.
Be an ambassador for the HAPPA brand and maintain customer care and service at all interaction points.
Online Supporter Engagement
Assume responsibility for the HAPPA Arena Competitions and Events social media account. Provide content for other related social media accounts to promote areas under your management.
Ensure booking systems run smoothly and efficiently.
Alongside the Digital Communications Manager ensure all relevant literature and imagery on the charity’s website is up to date and correct.
To create promotional material for all areas under your management alongside the Digital Communications Manager.
Provide content for newsletters and mailshots.
The successful candidate will have:
Equestrian Knowledge and Experience.
A passion for customer service.
A strong sense of leadership and experience of managing and motivating a small team.
An understanding of HR and Performance Management processes.
Worked in a similar establishment.
Flexible attitude to shift patterns.
Show an eagerness to learn new skills.
Higher Education Qualification/ Degree in Equine Science and Management.
BHS Stage 3 Care or Equivalent Qualification.
Driving License.
