An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Stallion AI Services, UK’s leading stallion semen collection, freezing, storage and distribution centre, for an Equine semen sales administrator to join our small friendly team.  This award winning business is based in Shropshire and deals with a variety of stallions from top Olympic and competition horses to various rare breeds on site.  The primary aim of the Sales administrator is to drive stallion semen sales, both in the UK and worldwide and generate new business and sales opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the equine industry, and in particular, breeding, and be goal driven.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Generating UK and Worldwide semen sales for our growing portfolio of stallions
  • Responsible for sourcing new distribution channels and developing effective business relationships, exploring all leads thoroughly through telephone calls, face to face meetings and emails
  • Initiate and agree strategies in order to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Working alongside the Marketing Executive to oversee all marketing of the stallions via various mediums such as websites, magazine publications, email marketing campaigns, social media and distribution of stud cards.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the monthly sales figures
  • Managing budgets
  • Promoting the Semen Sales service we offer for prospective stallion owners
  • Creating written, comprehensive proposals for prospective clients
  • Managing all administration – handling email and telephone enquiries, responding to queries, Nomination Forms, liaising with our Accounts department, completing and sending covering certificates, credit control
  • Liaising with and maintaining good relationships with international A.I. storage and distribution facilities and stud books
  • Record keeping – maintaining stock and sales databases
  • Making regular contact, regarding sales updates, with stallion owners
  • Following successful progeny (including high sales prices etc.) to use for marketing purposes
  • Staying current with stallions’ achievements
  • Developing a knowledge of the pedigree and contextualising this in relation to other successful horses of that line
  • Researching bloodlines relating to the stallions
  • Possible promotion at stallion shows within Europe
  • Answering queries and dealing with semen orders during stud season
  • Updating the website as and when requested
  • Working alongside the Marketing Executive to manage the social media for the business, namely Facebook

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales and the following attributes:

Desirable attributes 

  •  A high level of knowledge of the equine breeding industry and bloodlines

  • Bi-lingual

The job is 5 days a week Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with occasional weekend work at shows/events.  The role is mostly office based at our stud near Whitchurch, Shropshire but may involve some travel both within the UK and abroad to trade shows, stallion shows and similar events.
