This is an opportunity to join a small, friendly and hard working team running a number of prestigious equestrian events throughout the UK and with involvement in a number of overseas events. 

The Role:

Reporting to the founder and MD of MEM, Alec Lochore, and largely responsible for the operation of the UK events, this role will appeal to someone with strong organisational skills who is prepared to do whatever it takes (long hours, hard work, use of initiative) to make complex events a success.

The successful applicant, in addition to a flair for organisation, will have:

  • Excellent communication skills,
  • High administration competence,
  • An ability to appoint and manage the diverse range of contractors involved
  • Able to organise the armies of volunteers who keep our events running,
  • To plan and execute the printing of event programmes,
  • Assist with maintaining the web site and social media feeds 
  • Act as competition manager for additional classes

They will need to be a team player, almost certainly have experience of and a passion for equestrian Eventing and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of MEM. (Musketeer Event Management)

MEM have a portfolio of equestrian events which currently include:

  • Burnham Market International
  • Whitfield Horse Trials (will change venue in 2020 to Stowe)
  • Houghton International
  • Barbury Castle International Horse Trials
  • Cholmondeley Castle Horse Trials
  • Pony Club Championships
  • Burnham Market (2) Horse Trials
  • Cirencester Park Unaffiliated Horse Trials 

MD Alec Lochore is also Event Director of Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair, is currently Eventing Manager for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and has previously held roles such as Eventing Manager for the London 2012 Olympic Games, more recently the Technical Delegate of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The role is based in North West Norfolk, from where the day to day running of Musketeer is headed up although there will be a requirement to travel and location at event sites when necessary.
