Event Stand Planner/Coordinator

Hours: Seasonal (self-employed)

Salary: Competitive (self-employed)

Location: Field based – UK wide

Established in 1832, manufacturing a range of agricultural products, Battles has grown to be one of UK’s largest and most respected Equine & Animal Welfare wholesalers, with over 250 brands and 20,000 skus.

In addition, we manufacture and supply a number of own label brands including Coldstream, Supreme, Hy Equestrian and Lincoln

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join the team for the 2022 event season, to support our own-brand trade stands at various trade events around the UK

The successful candidate will be confident, adaptable, have excellent communication skills, experience and a passion for selling to the end user (consumer). They will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, but also as part of a team.

The role will involve travel across the UK. It will also include overnight stays and weekends.

Key Areas of responsibility:

  • Attend up to 20 premium equestrian events between April – December 2022
  • Selling equestrian products to consumer (end user) across the period of the event
  • Build and breakdown of trade stand to include visual merchandising of retail display
  • Prepare for and manage event schedule

Essential Skills:

  • Show stand and or a proven experience in face-to-face consumer selling
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Demonstrable communication skills
  • Equestrian knowledge/interest
  • Visual merchandising of retail displays
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to deal with any potential issues as they arise
  • Highly organized and motivated, with good time keeping
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with ambiguity
  • Clean Driving License, to drive minimum 3.5ton vehicle (HGV desirable)
  • Use of technology to record sales transactions

  • Calm under pressure, with the ability to deal well with ambiguity

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Show stand and or proven experience in face-to-face consumer selling
  • Good knowledge and interest in Equestrian
  • Clean driving license, minimum 3.5ton vehicle (HGV desirable)
