We are currently recruiting for a Group Head of Compliance and Chief Risk Officer who will be the head of the second line risk function for Weatherbys Bank Group. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Leading and establishing a strong second line risk function, specifically providing guidance and effective leadership.
  • Ensuring strong risk management policies, procedures and processes are in place, documented and implemented.
  • Providing timely risk information to the Board and senior leadership team, including the highlighting of any major risks and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Acting as an expert sounding board for first line functions on risk related matters, whilst providing appropriate challenge to the first line functions where necessary.
  • Owning and maintaining the policy governing the second line risk function; delivering challenge to policies of first line functions relating to risk.
  • Producing reports/dashboards on risk profile and on control effectiveness, including to the Executive, Board and Committees.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in financial services risk management and/or risk management consultancy. A sound understanding of the technicalities of financial and non-financial risks, including extensive applied experience of banking and investment risk management is essential. You will also have experience of operating at Executive Committee level, with frequent Board interactions. In depth knowledge of the UK banking regulatory environment is required.
