Closing Date for Applicants:
Thursday 5th December 2019

Status: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (37 hours) - we would also welcome applicants interested in a part-time position.

Due to the continuing popularity and development of our Equine and Animal Sciences Higher Education programmes, University Centre Reaseheath is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with expertise in Equine behaviour and sciences to join our team of teaching staff who are genuinely passionate about their subject and about supporting every student to reach their full potential. Working within the University Centre, the successful candidate should expect to deliver across a range of Animal Science-based degree programmes but would specialise in Equine Science.

The successful candidates will hold a higher degree, but with a minimum of MSc, in Animal or Equine Science or a related subject. They will ideally have prior teaching experience within the Higher Education sector and have completed, or be working towards completing, a nationally recognised teaching qualification and accreditation with the Higher Education Academy. Formal training will be provided to any successful candidate that does not possess a teaching qualification. The role will include administration for your modules and delivery of formal lectures, practicals, tutorials and seminars, in addition to undertaking final year honours project supervision. You will also be required to manage a cohort of students, including implementation of quality assurance processes, and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new curriculum content that keeps us at the forefront of this evolving discipline.

Reaseheath College has been awarded University Centre status, which is reflected in the growth of delivery and specialist land-based provision working alongside our partner institution, the University of Chester.

We can offer you:

  • A significant developmental support package for new lecturers
  • The chance to shape our curriculum
  • A fully funded opportunity to gain a recognised teaching qualification
  • Administrative support
  • A competitive benefits package

Applications are welcomed from passionate and enthusiastic individuals committed to providing our learners with a high-quality experience. You will be able to utilise your knowledge and experience of the discipline in providing a wealth of learning opportunities for our undergraduate students. Good team working and communication skills are key attributes within this dynamic team.
