Barnes Thompson Ltd is looking to recruit a JUNIOR DESIGNER to join our team in Newmarket, Suffolk.

Barnes Thompson is a bloodstock marketing agency based in the heart of racing, Newmarket, Suffolk. We are a dynamic, fun and hardworking team with an international portfolio of thoroughbred industry-based clients.

We are seeking a creative, hard-working team player with a keen eye for detail.

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of and interest in horses and horse-racing, be proficient on all Adobe Suite platforms, including video editing software. The role will involve liaising with the account managers and senior designers to create the design for advertising work our clients require. The individual will be responsible for basic ad design work, video editing, photo editing, creating interactive design such as .gifs, etc. The role will also require rotational weekend cover which is generally one weekend a month and is very flexible.

This role would suit a creative graduate ideally with 1-2 years relevant work experience.

 The role:

  • Create new artwork to include print adverts and leaflets, digital leaflets, web banners, gifs, videos etc
  • Amend existing artwork
  • Cut-outs, image editing etc
  • Follow brand guidelines and interpret the look and feel for multiple brands.
  • Additional opportunity to become involved with creating and administering social media assets for brands.
  • Manage the creative process from concept through to artwork and print.
  • Work cross departmentally to access relevant information.

 Skills & Abilities:

  • Well organised, and flexible.
  • Proficient on all Adobe platforms
  • Innovative design problem solving, capable of adapting and coming up with new solutions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills and a team player
  • Strong self-starter, with plenty of energy and drive.
  • An eye detail
  • Design degree or equivalent
  • An understanding and interest in the thoroughbred & bloodstock industries is desirable
  • Full, driving license.

References required. Salary dependent on experience.
