Location: Head office, Near Crewkerne, Somerset.

We are a SME operating a manufacturing business, supplying herbal feed supplements to the Equine and Pet Markets. Established in 1992 and based in a rural location outside of Crewkerne.  Our market is evenly spread across the UK, Europe and the USA.

Salary: £38,000+ per annum (based on a full time salary), dependent on skills, qualifications and experience. 

Working Hours: This position offers 30 hours per week spread over 4 – 5 days (salary calculated on a pro-rata basis). This is an in-house position, offering 20 days of paid holiday a year (pro-rata) plus statutory holidays. Please note that this is an on-site role due to its complexity and being a vital part of the business.

Recruiting: As an integral part of the Hilton Herbs team, it is essential that you develop an intimate understanding of the business and its inner workings.  We are seeking a Management Accountant with experience of preparing accurate quarterly management accounts, maintaining the product costing spreadsheet, running timely month ends including all control reconciliations, preparation and filing of all HMRC declarations and keeping a close watch on the financial transactions of the business.

Management Accountant Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions, including bank reconciliations (multiple bank accounts held in GB£, US$ and EURO’s).
  • Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control functions (one part-time member staff)
  • Preparation of month end journals and reports.
  • Quarterly VAT reporting in the UK
  • Quarterly VAT reporting in the NL (with training)
  • Monthly VAT reporting in FR (with training)
  • Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet Control Accounts.
  • Monthly Payroll -Sage 50 Cloud Payroll package
  • Preparation of monthly sales figures
  • Reporting to the Directors on a daily basis.
  • Report to the Directors with timely and accurate financial information on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain Asset register and calculation of Depreciation and Amortisation.

Requisite skills and experience:

Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA (or QBE) with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a commercial environment.

Essential

  • Proficient with Sage 50 Cloud Accounts and Payroll software, Ms Office – Excel, Word, and Zoom.
