Marketing & Sponsorship Officer

Closing Date for Applicants:
Wednesday 16th November 2022

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our Marketing and Communications team, with the successful candidate playing an integral role in helping to deliver our sponsorship and commercial marketing activity and promote the sport of dressage to a wider audience.

British Dressage is the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of dressage in the UK. There has never been a more exciting time to join the team at British Dressage and be part of the fastest growing equestrian sport. Following the success of Tokyo 2020 and the World Championships in Herning 2022, the sport is enjoying a public profile like never before, with over 18,000 members taking part in more than 2,500 days of affiliated dressage competition every year.

Based at our Head Office in Meriden, West Midlands, with the option of hybrid working available for up to two days per week from home, the Marketing and Sponsorship Officer will provide support for all areas of commercial activity and business development, primarily focused on sponsorship and partnership activities, as well as implementing marketing campaigns for membership, BD championships, and other training and education events.

The main priority for this role is to act as a key point of contact for all our sponsors and partners, building positive relationships with them and ensuring that all marketing requirements are delivered successfully. The Marketing and Sponsorship Officer will also work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to manage all other marketing and promotional activity across the year. The successful candidate will have a proven understanding of key marketing principles, ideally through working in a similar marketing or sponsorship role previously, or alternatively by recently completing a marketing or commercial qualification. You will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel, and experience of working with social media platforms, website content management systems and email marketing platforms.

You will also be highly organised, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise your workload and meet tight deadlines. An effective team player, you will be equally adept at working independently and a highly motivated self-starter. A genuine interest in equestrianism and understanding of dressage would be preferable for this role but is not essential.

Due to the nature of our sport a flexible approach to working, including some weekends and evenings, will be required. You must also have a full, clean driving license and be prepared to travel as necessary.

Salary: £20,000-£22,000 subject to experience.
