Marketing Assistant – 9 months fixed term contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Assistant to join the UK’s leading independent equestrian publisher. As a key member of the marketing team, the Marketing Assistant will be involved in working with a range of magazines and brand extensions including Horse&Rider and PONY Magazines. This role will span a number of areas including; marketing administration, digital marketing, PR, promotions and content marketing. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Updating online content, developing online communities
  • Initiating, writing and distributing press releases
  • Tracking sales and campaign activity
  • Reporting on competitor titles;
  • Managing supplier relationships
  • Assisting with outside events
  • Identifying, researching and implementing opportunities to build brand-awareness
  • Delivering and measuring innovative campaigns for internal and external clients
  • Handling the administration for a busy marketing team

The role will suit someone with a passion for equestrianism who has a good knowledge of marketing, or wants to gain practical experience following academic studies. This position demands a flexible approach and willingness to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines; the successful applicant will also need to have a strong head for administration and a structured, organised approach to managing their own workload. The ability to work successfully with all the company departments and external suppliers is essential, as are good IT skills.

An understanding of Photoshop and InDesign would be desirable.

This is an office based post so candidates will need to live locally to Grayshott, Surrey.
