GS Equestrian is an online equestrian retail store and brand based in Devon. Since 2010 we have been providing specialised high quality equestrian clothing, equipment, nutrition and pet supplies to riders across the UK and internationally. We pride ourselves in providing fast and stress free shopping experience that cuts out all the unnecessary trips to different tack shops.

Our online activity has grown enormously since 2017, GS Equestrian is now one of the largest online equestrian retailers in the UK.

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Executive to join our busy team.

This full-time role will predominately focus on the equine side of the business and will combine marketing and design skills to architect and enhance the company’s social media and email presence. This will be done by promoting brand-focused, interactive and engaging content whilst maintaining company branding and aesthetics.

In addition, the candidate will also be responsible for supporting the Product Development team by performing market research, market analysis, and assisting with product design.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, which include budget planning, content ideas, and implementation schedules.
  • Ensuring brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including web development, product development, and brand management.
  • Providing training and guidance to other members of the marketing team on social media implementation best practices and strategies.
  • Collecting and analysing customer data such as interactions and website conversions, plus being able to use this information to create reports that will be used to improve future marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Reporting progress to senior management.
  • Grow and expand company social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increases presence on existing platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram.
  • Researching and monitoring the activity of competitors.
  • Creating and distributing engaging written or graphic content in the form of email newsletters, landing pages, blog content, or social media posts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A proven track record in a previous marketing role
  • Knowledge and experience of the Equestrian industry
  • Good working knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of designing for print and digital mediums
  • Motivation to ensure high-quality output according to company branding standards
  • Understanding of social media channels and audience requirements
  • Desire to learn and progress in the E-Commerce industry
  • Ability to balance multiple projects
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-Motivated and proactive

Important points

The role is ideally an office based post where you will oversee another member of staff

Full training will be provided on the relevant systems

GS Equestrian is a family run firm with almost 20 members of staff, where we work in a relaxed atmosphere where teamwork is encouraged.

Desired Skills:

1-2 Years of Experience with Social Media Management as well as knowledge of social media scheduling platforms.

A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design skills.

Some knowledge of HTML/CSS.
