Dodson & Horrell Ltd has been manufacturing industry leading horse feed for over 80 years. In 2020, the brand merged with HJ Lea Oakes and moved its manufacturing facilities to their new home in Cheshire where they continue to create high quality and innovative products.

We are currently looking for an experienced Nutritionist to join our team in delivering outstanding customer service. This vacancy is based in our main office in Aston, Cheshire.

To represent the brand as a nutritionist and leader, contributing internally and externally to the elevation of the brand’s profile through the provision of exemplary service and support within the breeding and racing sectors.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: MSc in nutrition or a veterinary degree
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a nutritionist or in a closely related scientific services role requiring customer consultation
  • A strong understanding of equine physiology, nutrition, and raw materials
  • Knowledge of equine feed and supplement products and brands
  • A keen interest in and knowledge of the equine category
  • Highly adaptable and organised person, able to multitask
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt complex scientific information to the audience
  • Good computer skills - the role involves working on several industry specific software products
  • Ability to lead as well as work well as part of a team, including cooperation with other departments

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key racing and breeding account management
  • Support of the sales team in new business acquisitions, providing technical and product leadership
  • Representation of the brand as a racing and breeding leader at selected industry events
  • Preparation of internal and external training resources specific to racing and breeding nutrition
  • Regular market analysis of the racing and breeding sectors
  • Main point of contact for escalated feeding and nutrition queries from customers/colleagues
  • Maintain D&H and Market product information databases as assigned
  • Input into product development

Terms:

Full time position (40 hours a week, normally between 9am-5pm Monday and Friday, but might at times require some weekend work and being available to take out of hours calls).
