Online Communications Assistant  - Website, Social Media and Database Administrator 

Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is British Horseracing's official charity for the welfare of horses who have retired from racing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Online Communications Assistant based in the head office near Lambourn, Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the charity's digital output via its website and social media and for administering its membership database.
The role includes:

  • Management of the members' database
  • Management of the RoR website and news output
  • Management, including output and monitoring, of RoR's social media platforms
  • Support in the creation of the charity's promotional and marketing material
  • Dealing with incoming queries via email and over the phone 

As part of a small friendly team, you will be working closely with the Marketing and Sponsorship Executive and RoR's PR Consultant. We are looking for someone with an equestrian interest, racing and equestrian sports, with excellent written and communication skills. You will also have a professional manner on the telephone and in person. 

You will be required to work 25 hours a week which will include some weekend work, either in attendance at events around the country and / or responding to breaking news and developments. 

The role is potentially a very rewarding one, working for a charity who's membership and profile is increasing as it carries out its objectives of protecting the welfare of former racehorses and promoting the second career options available to them.
