Talisker Bay International Ltd is a specialist manufacturer for the animal feed industry incorporating the popular Likit, Stud Muffins and Bizzy Bites brands of equine toys and treats. Our products are sold throughout the UK and exported to over 40 countries.  Talisker Bay has been manufacturing in Ayrshire since 2002. Due to continued expansion we are now looking to employ an Operations Supervisor at our site in Kirkmichael, Ayrshire. 

The Operations Supervisor will be an extremely varied role and the successful candidate should be comfortable working in small business environment. Working closely with Production and Administration to ensure customer orders are produced and delivered on time to the highest standards. 

As a feed producer, quality raw material supply and full traceability is extremely important to us. The Operations Supervisor will assist in the sourcing and management of stock and batch numbers to ensure they meet UFAS Feed assurance scheme standards. A knowledge of horses and animal nutrition is a help but not essential. Full training will be given. 

The successful candidate should be skilled and confident working with computer systems, a knowledge of sage business software would be advantageous. 

Talisker Bay International is a small but highly efficient organisation so the Operations Supervisor must be a self-motivated flexible individual, able to work on their own as well as part of a team where required. 

Operations Supervisor Role:

  • Processing and expediting sales orders
  • Communicating with customers via phone and email
  • Supply chain management to ensure efficient stock control
  • Responsibility for quality control systems and UFAS Feed assurance.
  • Managing logistics and expediting orders in and out. 

Desired experience/skills:

  • Knowledge of Sage Accounting Systems
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Experience in manufacturing environment or supply chain management
  • Experience in BRC or equivalent standards of operation
  • Strong awareness of H & S responsibilities
  • A degree or HND preferred but not essential
  • Report generation and data interpretation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
