Grandstand Media is a team of specialists with many years’ experience planning, organising and running equine events. Most notably Horse of the Year Show (Birmingham, CSI 3*) which GML has organised since 1997 the event now welcomes over 60,000 visitors in October at the NEC.  The British Showjumping National Championships, Stoneleigh Horse Show, The Showing Register and Showing World have since been added to the company profile.

We are currently seeking for a part time PA / Book keeper to join the team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-orientated bookkeeper to join Grandstand Media Limited (GML) to manage financial records, oversee transactions and to provide secretarial and administrative support in the office and in an equestrian stud environment. 

As Bookkeeper and Personal Assistant your primary role will be completing data entry tasks, dealing with all aspects of accounts processing and ensuring accuracy across administration duties.  Reporting directly to the Chairman of Grandstand Group, you will work on a one-to-one basis on a variety of tasks related to working life and communication.

This role will suit a self-motivated and keen to work person, with relevant experience in accounts and an attention to detail.

This is a permanent part-time position located primarily at the GML offices at Stoneleigh Park, with occasional requirements to attend the Equine Stud in Nottinghamshire.  Completing approximately 21 hours per week, with flexibility to work the hours across the working week.  Hours can be variable to suit the ideal candidate.  Additionally, during an event the applicant may be required, along with the company’s other personnel (at the expense of the company) to be based at the host venue of the event.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining organised and up-to-date financial records and documents

  • Processing authorised invoices, picking up and highlighting any changes

  • Reconciling statements to ensure accuracy and identifying discrepancies

  • Payment runs and financial reporting

  • Assist with additional accounting tasks as necessary to support the Chairman and associated business work

  • Assist in documenting and organising the administration of horse’s registrations and passport documentation

  • General data entry and communication including typing of letters and email correspondence

  • Undertake general office tasks such as filing and help with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Chairman or management team

 EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Previous experience as a bookkeeper/accountant

  • An ability to work independently and has good imitative

  • Excellent written and verbal skills using Microsoft Office

  • Strong organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Flexible and able to change priorities

  • Reliable and willing to undertake a diverse range of tasks

  • Discretion in handling confidential information
