World Horse Welfare is an international charity that improves the lives of horses in the UK and around the world through care, research, education and influence.
We have an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience of animal welfare legislation and campaigning. This is a fixed term part time role (2 – 3 days per week) and the salary is dependent upon experience and skills.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to assist our public affairs and campaigns teams with their campaigns and research requirements. You would be responsible for providing daily administrative and editorial support for consultation responses as well as undertaking analysis of data, including online equine sales and movements of equines. This role is also required to support development of surveys and produce an overview of legislation impacting equines globally giving focus to transport legislation.
We take great pride in being realistic, compassionate and forward-thinking and the successful applicant will be expected to share these values. We are committed to championing equality and diversity in all aspects of employment and in the services that it provides. We encourage applications from under-represented groups, particularly ethnically diverse communities, LGBTQ+ and disabled people.
Our ideal candidate will possess basic analytic and research skills, good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write reports and communicate complex data in a simple and engaging way. You will be working remotely but must be flexible and willing to travel for meetings and relevant events. Experience with Power BI (or similar data visualisation programmes), an understanding of legislative frameworks and a background in animal welfare would be advantageous.
This role is suitable for hybrid working from home and our head office in Norfolk and/or our office in central London.
