An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the small but dedicated team at Zilco Europe Ltd based on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border. We are looking for an experienced equestrian sales person to support and continue to develop our strong customer base within the UK and Europe.
Zilco are manufacturers and wholesalers of synthetic equestrian products and specialise in carriage driving harness, racing, endurance and harness racing. Zilco is an Australian company with an office based in the UK to allow distribution of products to the UK and across Europe.
Working closely with the Sales Manager to progress sales, you will be responsible for developing key accounts and potential stockists. Part of this role will require you to visit customers, attend shows and events in support of stockists or to further develop the Zilco brand and will include carriage driving events. Attendance may also be required at trade shows across Europe.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with an equestrian background, however full training will be provided on Zilco’s range of products. A self-starter with an excellent customer service attitude, good telephone manner and strong administrative skills are key for the role. Familiarity with various social media platforms would be desirable but not essential. You will need to be a confident, self-motivated person, with a flexible approach to all tasks due to the nature of the small team.
To ensure that Zilco remain at the forefront of specialised equestrian disciplines the post holder will need to be diverse in their approach. The role offers the opportunity to get involved with a wide variety of tasks, ranging from industry research to working on short videos for use in social media.
Key Skills/Requirements:
Professional and mature ‘can do’ attitude
Previous experience within a similar role would be an advantage, although we will provide full product training and familiarisation with our sales operating software
A team player
Familiarity of the Equine Industry
Willing to travel in the UK and Europe
Excellent communication skills
Driving licence & willingness to travel
Competent Computer skills (familiar with Office Microsoft suite)
Organised & efficient with good time management and ability to prioritise workload
Literate and accurate with a good eye for detail
Have an excellent telephone manner and be able to build up a close and supportive rapport with customers
Able to work under your own initiative as well as enjoying working as part of a small and dedicated team
Desirable:
Language skills
Knowledge of carriage driving
Familiarity of social media
The vacancy offers the opportunity for growth and diversity within the role which can include liaising with our sponsored riders and working on a broad variety of sales and marketing projects. There will also be the opportunity for attending industry events and local visits to UK based customers.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the European Sales Manager to ensure where possible that sales targets and customer expectations are met. You will also be responsible for overseeing the e-commerce sales strategies and customer online shopping experience.
As part of a small team, you may occasionally be tasked with additional duties than those listed to suit the needs and requirements of the business. Taking skills and experience into consideration, projects may include product research, occasional customer visits and activities outside normal working hours. It is integral that each team member contributes to the long term strategy for Zilco Europe and the organisation as a whole.

Salary £26,000 - £28,000 per annum dependant on experience
This vacancy is full time: 36 hours per week. Monday – Friday
Working hours are 8.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am until 3.00pm on Friday with a 30 minute break
*Terms of this arrangement are negotiable for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will need to be in commutable distance of our offices in Shennington, on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire borders as some working in the office will be required. Initial induction to the company will require a minimum of 2 weeks training in the office, minimum 3 days a week. Due to the nature of the work, some weekend working or overnight stays will be required.
