Established in 1999, the Vet Way HQ is located in its purpose built factory and warehousing site in York, United Kingdom.

Vet Way supplies sustainable chemical solutions & consumables designed for the Veterinary, Equine and Agriculture professions.  We address the following product categories;

  • Infection Control
  • Nutrition & Treatments
  • Surgical & Laboratory

Vet Way has continued to grow and has built a reputation for progressive product development and a commitment to sustainable practices.  Of late Vet Way has launched a number of new Equine products to sell through merchants and retail outlets.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:

This is a field sales role - as well as approaching potential customers with the aim of winning new business; you will be working hard to maintain good relationships with our existing clients who are mainly Veterinary Wholesalers.  By doing this you will be required to gain repeat business and upsell wherever possible. 

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Be the first point of contact for all new sales enquiries
  • Generate new sales leads and manage them through to closure
  • Present Vet Way products favourably and in a structured, professional way both face-to-face and over the telephone
  • Manage and present Vet Way sales KPI’s whilst building your own sales pipeline
  • Represent the company at trade events and exhibitions
  • Record interactions with customers on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Form an understanding of our customers business and promote relevant solutions though regular telephone contact 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Desire to drive and succeed in a sales focused organisation
  • Knowledge of equine health, products and industry
  • Minimum of 1 years’ worth of field sales experience
  • Experience and confidence with interacting with customers and selling over the telephone
  • Confident, yet consultative sales approach
  • Must be able to accurately follow all company processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of sales KPI’s and administrative procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Computer literate – Experience of Microsoft Office packages
  • A positive, focused individual who is able to work in collaboration with other people internally and externally with a polite, confident and friendly manner
  • General education background including English and Maths qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written 

The working hours are Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.30  with some weekend or evening work when required.

As our head office is based in York, the successful candidate would ideally live within a commutable distance to our office for any time required to work in the office.
