Position: Sales Manager

Contract: Full time and permanent position

Working Hours: 41.5 hours (8:00-17:00 Mon-Thurs, 8:30 – 16:00 Fri)

Industry leading brand in equestrian safety, Charles Owen is offering sales managers. This role will be placed in our Wrexham Head office, working with our Sales team and reporting to our Head of Global Sales. The successful candidate will experience all elements of sales including supporting our top equestrian retailers and working to support the brand on hat fits and attend some of our consumer shows. As a result, you will travel 1 to 2 days a week and flexibility on this is paramount. You will be responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals. Duties will include sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well as negotiating contracts with potential clients. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have an understanding of the sales process and dynamics, and also superb interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a sales role is advantageous.

The Role:

  • Generating leads
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients
  • Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs
  • Understanding and promoting company programs
  • Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Maintaining client records
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability
  • Provide point-of-purchase and shelf management services to produce sales
  • Plan and develop merchandising strategies to balance the expectations of customers and the company objectives
  • Where needed support our retailers by maintaining store shelves and display products appropriately so that they can maximise the interest of customers and increase sales levels

Requirements for role:

  • Experience in sales and merchandising
  • Understanding of the sales process and dynamics
  • A commitment to excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks and competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel, and outlook
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate progress
  • Have the aptitude to learn and develop
  • Be approachable and adaptable to enable you to work collaboratively
