HKM has been successfully producing and marketing a full range of products for riders and horses for many years. The HKM brand stands for a passion for equestrian sports as well as innovative and high-quality products with an unbeatable price-performance ratio. From the idyllic town of Neuenhaus near the Dutch border, we supply over 3,000 specialist retailers in 69 countries. With our products, we equip all riders regarless of age and size, as well as their four-legged sports companions, from Shetty to Grand Prix horses. We have achieved a great deal in recent years, but we are still a long way from reaching the end goal.

We have a very strong market presence in the UK. In order to meet local market conditions as best as possible, the UK business is run by our HKM Sports Equipment (UK) Ltd, in England. In order to pursue our ambitious growth targets in the UK, we are looking for a motivated, ambitious individual to join our team as soon as possible.

The role of Sales Representative (UK) is a field based role, traveling to customers, account management and working from home (telesales & customer service). There is extensive travel required with this role and a proven track record in field sales is essential.

Your tasks

  • Proactive strategic support and advice for customers in the UK, including the processing and follow-up of quotations, orders and queries

  • Targeted further development of existing customers and acquisition of new customers

  • Active analysis of the market environment and initiation of necessary measures (derivation of sales potential)

  • Specialist consulting and training for sales partners and customers

  • Organization, coordination and participation in national events and trade fairs

  • Participation in research and development (product range development, new products, etc.)

  • Supporting the sales team with other tasks and projects that arise

  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally

Your profile

  • Completed vocational training

  • Several years of proven professional sales / customer service experience

  • Experience in equestrian sports

  • Full UK driving license

  • Independent, structured, self-reliant and solution-oriented way of working

  • High degree of team spirit, motivation, initiative and reliability

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office

  • LANGUAGES: English mandatory, German favorable

How will the role work ?

This is a home based role with extensive travel. Some customers will require a visit in person, some can be managed on the phone or online. The successful candidate will ideally be located in the Midlands.

Reporting will be to the UK office in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, with regular teams meetings with head office in Germany, alongside the sales and production/design team. Occassional travel to Germany will be required for meetings with Head Office, and attendance at Spoga.

We require an experienced sales person, with familiarity of the equine industry.
