We are looking for new member to join our small, friendly team in the role of Social Media Manager. The role is office based but working from home until guidelines change.

Our marketing department is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is mad about animals and passionate about everything equine. You will work with various company departments to promote the company and work to enhance the brand image by posting quality engaging content, on a frequent basis. 

As a social media manager, you will be responsible for managing all of our social media channels, with the aim of creating captivating campaigns and engaging with our audience. In order to do this, you will have excellent copy writing skills and be able to track trends and monitor performance on each of these channels. Using this information, you will be able create recommendations for the growth of each channel and offer up a successful way of implementing this strategically.

The ideal candidate should have an analytical mindset with the ability to create customer profiles, in order to clearly identify the target market. In addition to this, you should be able to create relevant content that conveys the brand effectively.

You should be highly organised with a strong work ethic and have the ability to meet deadlines. The right person will have a proactive mindset and the ability to forward think in creating a social media content plan. Thinking outside the box in a creative way is a must, in order to get the message across to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to pay close attention to details. With an understanding of how social media fits into the rest of the digital landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging social media strategy
  • Managing social media platforms and recommending improvements
  • Target setting for brand awareness and customer engagement
  • Scheduling social media posts, launching products and competitions
  • Forming relationships with influencers, bloggers and PR contacts
  • Formulating unique content in line the strategy and channel best practices
  • Engaging followers with regular company updates
  • Creating brand awareness to gain audience attention
  • Responding to the comments on social media
  • Creating paid social media campaigns for advertising
  • Monitoring social media metrics and ROI
  • Analysing social media trends
  • Preparing social media engagement and activities reports
  • Optimising content effectively
  • Collaboration with rest of the marketing team and other departments
  • Staying up to date with the latest social media trends and practices

Requirements

  • 1+ year in a  relevant social media role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • In-depth understanding of different social media channels and algorithm changes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to formulate strategic documents based on clear understanding of customer data
  • Exceptional copy writing, proof reading and editing skills
  • A keen eye for detail

Desirable skills and experiences

  • Understanding of WordPress
  • Familiar with SEO practices
  • Knowledge of Adobe creative cloud including: Photoshop & InDesign
  • Knowledge of Canva
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and other reporting platforms
  • Knowledge of social media scheduling tools such as Sprout Social
  • Experience of affiliate marketing
