An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Thoroughbred Sales Nutritionist within MARS Horsecare covering the East and South East of England.

MARS Horsecare UK Ltd owns many market leading nutrition brands including SPILLERS®, WINERGY® and EQUIVITE®. Although run as a separate segment Mars Horsecare UK is part of MARS Inc. one of the most respected consumer goods companies in the world, with leading pet care brands such as Pedigree®, Whiskas® and Royal Canin®.

We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organised and passionate self-starter with extensive first hand experience within the Thoroughbred Industry.

The ideal candidate will ideally have a degree in Equine Science or a related subject and possess excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Numerate with a sound commercial sense
  • An aptitude for sales
  • Computer literate
  • With skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Primary responsibility of this role is to drive sales of MARS® Horsecare products by providing nutritional solutions to support Trainers and Breeders across the Thoroughbred sector and nurture an effective professional network within the Thoroughbred industry.

The successful candidate will be high calibre with drive and the ability to work on their own initiative. Exceptional time management and organisational skills are essential alongside the capability of working effectively alone or as part of a team.

Candidate requirements: 

  • A graduate, ideally with a degree in Equine Science or a related subject
  • Well connected within the Thoroughbred industry
  • Capable of working alone or in a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Numerate with commercial sense
  • Aptitude for sales
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Full Driving Licence
  • This is a field based role and the ideal candidate would be based in the East or South of the UK.

A flexible approach to working hours is required as there will be the requirement to attend open days and events on behalf of the company throughout the year - which will include occasional weekend work.
