Training Assistant; Resources – temporary contract for 12 months

The Pony Club is ‘the’ starting point for any young person, under the age of 25, who wants to learn how to ride and care for horses and ponies. Membership offers a range of benefits, including offering the opportunity to participate in our nine sports, competing individually and in teams, training in how to both care for and ride a pony correctly, reinforced by Members taking tests, earning achievement badges, and most importantly making friends and having fun - you don't need to have your own pony to join! Founded in 1929, The Pony Club now runs across 330 Branches and over 400 Centres in the UK alone, encompassing more than 30,000 Members.

The Pony Club’s purpose is:

  • To promote and advance the education and understanding of the public and particularly children and young people, in all matters relating to horsemanship and the horse.

  • To encourage the development of sportsmanship, unlocking potential by building resilience, confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.

  • To support and develop the volunteering network to strengthen The Pony Club community and sustain lifelong engagement with equestrianism. 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Training Assistant to help collate and update The Pony Club’s online and printed resources. In this role, you will assist in improving the quality, relevance, and accessibility of training materials, guides, and publications. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that all content is up-to-date and engaging. An understanding of The Pony Club’s Training pathways would be advantageous but not essential.

Your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Updating Online Resources: Assist in updating The Pony Club’s website content, training materials, guides, and resources, ensuring they are accurate, up to date and accessible.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure online content is relevant and easy to navigate.

  • Printed Publications: Help oversee the updating and production of printed training resources, collaborating with third parties where required.

  • Content Review: Assist in reviewing and updating written content to ensure it aligns with current test syllabi and their resources.

  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all content is consistent with The Pony Club’s brand guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in updating content digitally or physically.

  • Basic understanding of online resource management and digital learning practices.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign / Photoshop) or similar publishing tools.

  • Knowledge of web content management systems (e.g., WordPress).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.

  • Good organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage deadlines.

  • Passion for educational content and interest in the equestrian or youth development sector.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in print publication design or production.

  • Familiarity with Pony Club activities and structure (desirable but not essential).

Personal Attributes:

  • Creative thinker with the ability to contribute new ideas.

  • Manage multiple deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Passionate about improving training resources and the learning experience for Pony Club stakeholders.

Hours of work: 

09.00 – 17.00 Monday- Friday. (Flexibility can be discussed for the right candidate)
There will be evening/weekend work as required by the role, time off in lieu will be given where appropriate.

Job Type: 12 month contract.

Benefits:
In return for working at The Pony Club you will receive 25 days off a year holiday plus bank holidays and office closure over Christmas.

Salary £23,000 - £25,000 depending on experience.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Warwick: reliably commute to the office a minimum of two days per week.
