We are looking for a positive, open minded and hardworking team player to join our Knowledge and Skills team. This varied position will allow the successful candidate to train both people and horses alongside a passionate team and would suit someone who is looking to expand their skills in a highly supportive environment.

The Horse Trust is dedicated to providing high quality, evidenced based training to both internal team members, external professionals as well as resident horses. This is a great opportunity to join our highly motivated team, in a role that will allow the right candidate to be involved in a wide range of training activities that are provided here at The Horse Trust.

The successful candidate must be comfortable delivering presentations and practical sessions to a variety of audiences

As well as completing office-based tasks using Microsoft office applications.

In addition, they must also be willing to work outside in all weathers and be able to demonstrate practical competence and experience in handling a variety of horses in different settings.

Ideally, you will have some understanding of the principles of teaching along with a basic knowledge of horse’s ethological needs, horse behaviour, training, and body language. Coaching will be provided to gain experience in educating emergency responders in dealing with horses, training external professionals both face to face and via an online training platform. This will include preparing resources and planning training sessions for internal team members and external professionals. Opportunities will be provided to work alongside our internal and external experts to learn more about horse behaviour and creating a positive learning environment for horses during training.

Salary Range:  c. £19,000.00-£24,000.00 per annum, dependant on experience.

Hours:  37.5 Hours per week. Monday – Friday 08.30 – 16.30.

Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus bank holidays.
