The Agribusiness division of Glanbia, employing over 400 people, is the number one supplier of farm inputs in Ireland, through our network of more than 50 retail stores across Ireland, our technical sales manager teams and our online channel. 

GAIN Horse Feeds, is the equine feed brand of Glanbia Agribusiness and is a market leader in all sectors of the equine industry including Racing, Breeding and Sport Horse.  GAIN has been established in the UK market since 1995.  To support our ambitious growth strategy for the UK we are now seeking to recruit a UK Equine Business Manager.  Based in the South East of the UK, this role will report into the UK Equine Country Manager.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in field sales within the Agricultural / Equine or Veterinary Industry, plus a wealth of knowledge / contacts from riding or dealing with Horses competitively.  

Key areas of responsibility will include: 

  • Maintaining and developing sales to a customer base in line with specific targets.
  • Identifying opportunities for further sales and new areas for development through detailed research of the UK equine market.
  • Ensuring that cash is collected in line with targets and that debtor days are maintained at the level required.
  • Analysing, developing and maintaining key information on all customers.
  • Providing technical expertise to customers on a range of equine products.
  • Executing campaigns and marketing plans in line with business needs.
  • Working closely with a number of other functions within the business including NPD, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing.

 Ideal candidate will have the following attributes: 

  • A third level degree in a relevant Agriculture / Equine discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience selling directly into the Equine or Agri sector.
  • A strong knowledge, understanding and passion for the Equine Industry.
  • A proven track record of achievement in a competitive sales environment.
  • A good technical aptitude with the capability of understanding the scientific elements of horse feed is essential.
  • Strong negotiating and planning experience.
  • A good working knowledge of IT systems including MS Office.
