Location: Hybrid role: The Pony Club office in Warwick with agreed home-working

Job Type: Full Time – 35 hours per week

Salary: Competitive salary plus generous pension and health insurance

The Pony Club is the world’s largest equestrian youth organisation and the fourth biggest youth movement in the UK with over 32,000 members. With volunteering at it’s heart. We are seeking someone passionate about people to help us grow our volunteering workforce and recognise, reward and retain the thousands that already do so much.

The Volunteering Development Officer will be responsible for creating a new three year volunteering strategy and working closely with the Volunteers and Officials Committee to support volunteers across the Country.

This person will play a key role in supporting volunteers during our National Championships and creating a pathway for members to continue their Pony Club experience beyond the life of membership. The wider opportunities sees this role impacting change across all four pillars of the strategic plan and reinforce our Charitable purpose.

Role Responsibility:

  • Create a three year volunteering strategy
  • Strategically coordinate and support the provision, growth and development of volunteering.
  • Support the network of volunteers assisting at our many events and competitions.
  • Achievement of volunteer growth as set out in the Volunteering Strategy.
  • Support the development of the volunteer workforce including coaches, instructors, Branch and Centre officials and young leaders.
  • Share best practice and the range of opportunities across the Volunteering Pathway.
  • Promote compliance with The Pony Club health and safety policies.
  • Actively promote and encourage the ideals of the minimum operating standards for Safeguarding.
  • Ensure an integrated approach across the Pony Club Branches and Centres, alongside key partners from across the Equestrian, Health, Education and Community and Voluntary sectors.
  • Support the delivery of all projects across the Development Team.
