Warehouse Assistant

Warehouse Assistant position available, in a well-established and successful family-run equestrian company. Our offices are friendly and informal, based on the outskirts of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. 

Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm / 30 hours per week (would consider a 2 day week job share for right candidates) 

Reporting to the Office Manager, you will be responsible for incoming goods as well as picking and packing orders for distribution. The work will need to be completed promptly to ensure we provide an excellent delivery service for our customers. 

You need to be confident dealing with customers, as well as having the ability to work well on your own and as part of a team. The candidate will hold a UK driving license, due to our offices being in a rural location. 

Previous warehouse experience would be advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be given. The role will include lot of walking and applicants must be comfortable with physical work. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Speaking to customers over the phone.
  • Replying to customer queries by email.
  • Raising orders and invoicing customers for orders.
  • Unloading and unpacking deliveries.
  • Ensuring all orders placed before 2pm, are picked/ packed and despatched the same day.
  • Picking orders using a hand held scanner.
  • Conducting regular rolling stock takes.
  • Preparing documents for couriers.
  • Moving and organising stock, ensuring all stock is kept on the shelves, where possible.
  • Keeping the warehouse area clean and tidy.
  • Assisting the Office Manager with general filing. 

Key skills & experience required:

  • Familiar with working within a fast paced environment.
  • You should be dependable with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • You are able to follow written instructions/ directions accurately.
  • Flexible on working hours during busy periods of the year and to cover staff holidays. 

£7.05-£7.50 per hour depending on age & experience + Pension + 20 Days Holiday (pro rata)
