Salary: Circa £27,000 basic plus excellent benefits package

Full time permanent position – 35 hours per week.

The British Horse Society has a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals.

We are known nationally for our campaigning for equine welfare, for example REACT Now to Beat Colic & #BeHorseAware. We are now looking for a dedicated Welfare Campaigns Officer. This is a brand new role, dedicated full-time to our welfare education campaigns as we need additional capacity to keep our existing campaign information progressive and impactful as well as the development of new campaigns.

Here’s some information on the role…

Working as part of a proactive team, you will be responsible for the continued success of our welfare campaigns. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and a great understanding of social media platforms and Human Behaviour Change. You must have the ability to create innovative new resources, manage relationships with existing key campaign stakeholders as well as seeking out new opportunities and partners. Exceptionally strong equine knowledge and experience of working in the equine sector and/or campaigning is essential for this role.

Reporting to the Welfare Education Manager, the Welfare Campaigns Officer role will include delivering on campaign development and impact, and producing content across all platforms to improve quality, reach, engagement and participation.
