Full Time one year fixed term contract
This position is home based and will involve extensive travel as well as evening and weekend work.
The successful candidate must have access to a home office set up where broadband is available, and will be provided with BHS support for this. They must also have their own transport suitable for business use. You must have a flexible approach to working and experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage.
This new role presents an exciting opportunity as it is the first time that the BHS has employed a professional Welfare Field Officer. The successful candidate will work closely with our volunteer welfare officers to support their work, as well as recruiting and training new volunteers. The Welfare Field Officer will attend welfare concerns reported to the BHS and offer advice and support to the owners in order to improve their horses' lives. In more serious cases, the Officer will work with other organisations to take action under the Animal Welfare Act (2006). the appointed person will be heavily involved with proactive welfare education within the local area.
